ok me and friends are forming up a team for a science competition. and we want to know what the people would like for technology to change in the next 20 years. ok this has to be something that can be proved to change in less than 5 months. we want your honest opinion and if we win we will give a special thanx to all of you. thank you
Your opinion on what you want peice of technology you want to change that will save the world in 20 years?
The most important difference we could make in the technology world on a consumer level is to connect EVERYTHING. My music library and my google maps should wirelessly sink with both my phone and my cars navigation system. I should have everything I digitally own on a single drive, maybe hosted on the internet, where everything in my house and everything I own can access it. TV, Music, Photos, calender, Movies., contacts and address book, these should all be universally connected and brought together, into one identity. This is generally refered to as cloud computing. What really needs to happen though, is faster cable based internet so that the USA can reach Asia level speeds in every home, and then some. On top of that a wireless standard needs to be supported that's fast, maybe not cheap but fast. A compilation of both factors, and a universalation of file standards would revolutionize the (like the internet did) the usefullness of our computers and our technology.
