What are some important developments in the world?

I need examples of developments in technology, humanity, rights, etc. and when they happened, that changed the world for the better or worse. Any events or people who have helped develop and shape the world into what it is today, and things that are forever evolving.


What are some important developments in the world?
Rights:

- Banishment of slavery in 1865 (13th Amendment)

- Ex-slaves getting the right to vote in 1870 (15th Amendment)

- Women getting the right to vote in 1920 (19th Amendment)

- Prohibition in 1919 (18th Amendment; repealed by the 21st Amendment in 1933)

- People 18+ are not forbidden to vote in 1971(26th Amendment)



Technology:

- The telephone was developed by Alexander Graham Bell in c. 1878

- Electricity in a bulb was invented by Thomas Edison in c. 1880

- Corrective lenses/glasses were invented by Abbas Ibn Firnas in the 800s

- The telescope was invented in 1616 by Niccol貌 Zucchi

- Mercury thermometer was invented in 1714 by Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit

- The locomotive/train was developed in 1804 by Richard Trevithick

- Daguerreotype/photography was developed by Louis Daguerre in 1839

- Sewing machine was developed by Barth茅lemy Thimonnier in 1830

- Automobile was developed and patented in 1885 by Karl Benz
