Why Are Mr Blatter And Plattini So Scared Of CCTV Technology?

Why when the standard of referees throughout the world is simply atrocious, will it take a world cup final howler to change their minds? MICK THE MACKEM.
Why Are Mr Blatter And Plattini So Scared Of CCTV Technology?
They was trialling some kind of goal line technology a while back, i think it involved some kind of chip embedded in the ball and sensors in the goal which would give the ref an instant decision on whether the ball crossed the line or not, but for some reason FIFA stopped it halfway through the trial and Blatter said they wouldn't be looking any further in to it, which is ridiculous as they have basically said they wont even entertain the idea of technology in football!

I don't think video technology would work because if they decided to use it on lets say just offsides and penalties then it would have to be for every single offside or penalty decision which would just slow the game right down, the reason i say it would have to be every decision is because the only other way would be for the ref to use a replay if he wasn't sure but that would still mean he would get some wrong because even when they are absolutely sure they could still be wrong! also for example if a player is played through one on one, the linesman might be 75% sure he is onside but through fear of getting it wrong and getting slated by the press, fans, etc decides to play it safe and call for a replay it turns out the linesman was right and the player was onside, what happens then? the player has just been robbed of his chance to score and what if that goal would have saved them from relegation or decided the title even with the use of video replays there will still be just as much controversy, how many times do you see pundits split on whether a player was onside or not even when they have watched the replay numerous times and how many times have you argued with your mates for days whether it was or wasn't a penalty?

Video technology during the game wouldn't really change anything there would still be controversy, but there should be some kind of goal line technology and the FA should be able to use video evidence to punish players after the game for serious foul play, diving etc regardless of whether the referee saw it at the time!
Why Are Mr Blatter And Plattini So Scared Of CCTV Technology?
He says it will ruin the game, they will stop the game every few seconds and every decision will be questioned...and i kind of agree....but i see what you mean. There needs to be a compromise...
The Premiership and Internationals would benefit greatly from Hawkeye Technology no doubt about that
They are scared for their jobs and are willing to risk the games for the paycheck.
platter relies on african votes and platini on the lesser european votes, they're scared that the top guns of european football are more likely to break away and form the super league which then they will have no jurisdiction nor can they interfere so their powers will be obsolete thus the revenues generated by these teams won't be going into their pockets,so they try to maintain a status quo here and curtail football rather than improve it
If you had goal line and CCTV technology, top clubs wouldn't be able to bribe the referees and UEFA officials to give them decisions. If a referee makes a 'mistake' (5 mins of stoppage time for Man Utd, Essien escaping another blatant red card for Chelsea, Juventus getting a dubious penalty for a 1-0 win) they can then go and blame it on human error, but they can't do this if there are TV replays to prove them wrong. They would miss out on a lot of money by approving them.
Probably the cost of installing high-tech - state of the art - top of the range cameras at every pitch and the cost of maintenance.

They have the money, but they're probably going to use it to promote some poxy mascot for the World Cup.
