New stuff gets made. People find the new stuff cool, and start making new stuff for the new stuff. Eventually the old stuff gets so behind because nobody makes stuff for it anymore, that it becomes obsolete. Repeat to infinity.

Supply and Demand. There is a huge demand for new technology - in our Technological Age. We rapidly surge forth discovering new realms of technological advances that we can attain and then mass produce them for the general public.
Some realms of technology that we are just now peering into is quantum technology and bacterial technology. With these we can make large strides forward, discovering new ventures and products to be consumed by the masses.
