As a kid I remember not being able to have a lot of things to eat. Meat, sugar, coffee and many other things at times were hard to come by. I still remember breaking that yellow packet to turn white margarine %26quot;butter%26quot; yellow.

people ate more canned and frozen food becuase it was mass produced for the military.
People started to eat processed and %26quot;fake%26quot; food for the first time; margarine for example.
